Well neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look and installing the Firestone Airride Red Label extreme duty rear air helper springs on a 2024 Ford F-250. This is what our airbags look like when they're installed and it's really nice, they use a lot of brackets here that all bolt together, but there's no drilling required in all of this installation. So really it's not too terribly hard to do. The bags themself are awesome construction. They're double convoluted. more

Before we do that though, let's take a minute. We'll check these out and make sure they're gonna be the right setup for you. So even though these trucks now are super heavy duty, they can handle a ton of weight, people still find themselves needing a little bit of extra support just to help make the ride a little bit better and have some adjustability and things like that. Because when you get to pulling big old trailers around these campers and fifth wheels, goosenecks, so on and so forth, having a suspension enhancement can really go a long way. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Ford F-250 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL Air Helper Springs. Adding Air Helper Springs to the back end of your F-250 is gonna do a couple different things. First and foremost, it's going to add extra support in the rear end of your truck, whenever you're hauling a heavy load in the bed or if you have a trailer behind it that's causing the rear end of your truck to sag, it's going to help add support back to it to bring the truck back up to a level position. Now when using these, you still want to have a little bit of sag from factory ride height because your truck will have rake from the factory that is designed to counteract some of that weight. You will want a little bit of sag, but not, you don't want the back of your truck to be crushed by the weight that you're hauling. more

Hellwig Pro Series Helper Springs Installation - 2018 Ford F-150- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2018 Ford F-150. And we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Hellwig Pro Series Helper Springs. This kit is going to essentially consist of two leaf springs that you're going to add to the top of your leaf pack. And essentially what they're designed to do is to help keep the back end of your truck up, when normally your truck would be sagging. The biggest issue with the newer trucks that are coming out, especially the half-ton trucks, is because they want to make the suspension soft enough to where it's comfortable to drive when it's unloaded, but they have to put a little bit of strength into it so that you can still tow a trailer and the truck doesn't sag to the ground. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we have the Firestone Red Label Air Helper Springs to help to support the rear end of your 2019 Ford F-450. Air helper springs are going to help to support the rear end of your vehicle when you're hauling the load either in the bed or from the hitch. The biggest reason to get these is if you're feeling uncomfortable when driving on the road. They're going to install between the top of our axle and the bottom of our frame rail and they're just there to support the rear end. A lot of times when you're hauling those heavy loads whether it's in the bed of your truck or on the hitch, it's very uncomfortable to drive down the road if your front end is up in the air, your headlights aren't pointing in the right direction anymore, so you're brightening people going down the road. more

Air helper springs are going to be airbags that install between the bottom of your frame and the top of your axle. And they're designed to help to carry the rear end of your truck when you've got a heavy load either on the hitch or in the bed of your truck. The nicest part about airbags is that the air pressure is going to be adjustable. So you can adjust the stiffness where there's a lot of other components out there that you can use as rear-end enhancement, suspension enhancement that are not going to be adjustable. more

SumoSprings Maxim Rear Helper Springs Installation - 2019 Ford F-53- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the SumoSprings Maxim Rear Helper Springs on a 2019 Ford F53 chassis. And this is what your SumoSpring is gonna look like when it's installed on your chassis. And it does have to be drilled into the frame for your top mounting plate. But the bottom bracket, just simply bolts around your leaf springs and this is gonna create a cushion between the frame of the vehicle and the leaf springs and just help absorb a lot of the shock that your factory suspension just doesn't handle very well. The big thing with RVs like this, as you drive them side to side, you're gonna notice a lot of sway, and on the freeway, you may get wind kind of blowing you back and forth and this is gonna help stabilize that because it creates a larger, it fills this gap essentially, whereas your factory jounce, it's pretty small, and it takes a lot for it to finely compress enough for it to bottom out before you feel anything. And that's the difference is the SumoSpring is gonna fill that void and be comfortable throughout. more

So when it comes to suspension enhancements, you know claims and features and all that are great, but really what everyone cares about, you know, are they actually gonna work Are they gonna make a difference And so we'll do a couple of tests here. Right now we got the factory suspension installed and we put quite a bit of weight in the bed of the truck and when we did that, it squatted way down, the front end raised up and its really putting a good load on our suspension. So we'll drive around, see how it feels, that way we have something to compare it to whenever we get our new parts on. more

In today's case though, our truck bed is just full of stuff, has a big, huge cargo management system in there, and we usually put a big, heavy tank back there to really get weight over that axle and test some air springs out. But because of that, not really able to get the weight back there. So figured at the very least maybe we can cruise around, kind of get a feel for 'em, and see how they're gonna affect our ride when we don't have something super heavy back there. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2020 Ford F-150, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs. What air helper springs are designed to do is provide support in the rear end of your truck when you're hauling either a heavy load in the bed, or from the hitch on the back. There's a couple different reasons of why this is a really good addition to your vehicle is if you have a smaller fifth wheel camper, or a travel trailer that you're pulling, maybe a car trailer, something like that, that your truck is constantly sagging in the rear, making it uncomfortable to drive. This is designed to bring it back up to where the truck is level. It's not necessarily designed to bring it back up to factory ride height, because at that point, you've got a little too much air in it. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Sumo Rear Helper Springs. These are gonna be the Maxim ones on a 2013 Ford F53 chassis. Now adding these to your RV is really just gonna give you a much better ride overall. And having better handling, especially with something that's maintenance free is really great because every time you drive your RV you're gonna notice the difference and the factory ride it feels top heavy on the suspension you know it doesn't really work a whole lot. And this is really just gonna supplement all that weight of our RV by going in between our leaf springs and mounting up to the frame. So this is gonna add extra cushion and these are made to absorb quite a bit. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 airbags for the rear axle on a 2020 Ford F-350 Super Duty. So we're out on our test course. We're gonna hit some bumps, and we don't have any weight in the bed. We have a fifth wheel in there, and normally we load that up with 1,500 pounds or so, and you can really notice a difference, but you're not always gonna have a load in your truck. So we're gonna drive it around just to see how it feels under normal driving, and a lotta times, people say airbags are rough, and I don't know if that's necessarily the word. It's definitely a firm ride, but the ability to adjust that on the fly is really nice by letting pressure out so you can get a nice comfortable ride, and I think the thing is is a firm ride is not a bad thing when you have a trailer or a camper or anything, even just dirt or something in the back, because being able to get your steering response back is gonna make towing just a lot better. more

So these kits come as a pair and they come fully assembled from RAS. They sit on top of your spring. There's nothing, no cutting, no welding. Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate rear air helper airbags on a 2015 Ford Transit T-150. So we're gonna take this out on our test course, and this is set up for an electrician to use, so it's got all the equipment in the back, so already the jounce bumpers are pretty well resting on the axle, and that's gonna make for that suspension to not be able to move very well. And we just installed a hitch and brake controller, so they're planning on putting a trailer on suspension that's already kind of maxed out. So I'll be interested to see the difference that the airbags make. So let's hit some of these bumps and see how it rides. Not a whole lot of soaking up. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus Rear Airbags on a 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty. Adding airbags to the back of your truck is really nice, because when you have a load that's really heavy or if you have a fifth-wheel or gooseneck that you pull, that truck is gonna wanna sag, and there are some downsides with the sagging. First off, you have a lot of stress that's put on the rear suspension and, honestly, the suspension really can't do a whole lot when it's already maxed out against the jounce bumpers. It also tilts the front of the vehicle up, so you're gonna have less braking, less steering feel. If you've ever had a truck loaded up, you kind of noticed that it gets real light in the steering wheel, and that's not exactly comforting when you're pulling a big load or have a heavy load in the bed. Now, these ones are rated at a 5,000 pound capacity and that's not to say that you're adding 5,000 pounds to what you can tow, but it can support up to that weight. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 rear helper airbags on a 2020 Ford F-150. Trucks are meant for work, generally, but as we've seen as trucks have gotten bigger and they become crew cabs, they become our daily drivers. And unfortunately, the suspension's kind of designed for comfortable driving, but when we need it to work, sometimes that suspension gets a little overworked and that's because our jounce bumpers can only do so much and it takes so long for that suspension to compress before they really do anything. And at that point, you're putting quite a bit of load on your suspension. So whether you have something in the bed of your truck that's heavy or you have a tongue weight that's heavy on a trailer, or in the case of our neighbor here, you're using a fifth wheel, that truck is gonna see sag in the back. And that's kind of bad for the rear suspension because it is overworking it. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 air helper springs here on a 2019 Ford F250. So adding air helper springs here to your F250 is gonna be an excellent option if you guys find yourself to do a lot of heavy-duty towing or hauling. So essentially, what our airbags are gonna do is they're gonna be reducing the amount of sag and squat we have at the rear here while we're towing or hauling. Now the reason that's important is that sag/squat not only looks a little bit funky, it's gonna have drastic effects on our vehicle. It could be something as simple as wearing down your factory suspension much sooner or giving you the improper headlight aim shining other motorists in the eyes or not giving us the best view of the road. Those are just some minor things. more

SuperSprings SuperSway Stops Installation - 2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty- Video
Today on our 2015 Ford F-350 we're gonna be taking a look at the SuperSprings SuperSway Stops. What the SuperSway Stops does is, it lowers this little point to where we're gonna activate our overload springs a lot sooner. As you can see, it's definitely a lot bigger than the one that came on here from the factory, so this is just an easy way just to kind of keep your suspension all working together 'cause before I didn't really have a whole lot of weight on here and my overload springs weren't getting activated. Like it literally wasn't. So, this is just going to do a lot of different things for your ride quality. One, it's gonna help prevent purposing which what that is, whenever you're going down the road and you hit like a speed bump or something, it feels like you're in the back of a bus where you're kind of just sitting there like this and your truck takes a little bit of time to kind of correct. more

Stability Plus Stabilizer Helper Springs Installation - 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty- Video
Today, on our 2021 Ford F250, we're gonna be taking a look at the Stability Plus Helper Springs. With the extra suspension components installed, we loaded up a big old water tank, it's about 1500 pounds, and we're gonna take it up on our test courses to see how it does. So, even after that first bump I could definitely feel my truck just being more responsive. It's a little bit tighter, that's why it doesn't just go down and comes back up and kinda rocks. I could definitely feel it. And I have many other loads that are over a lot heavier than this, so this is on the medium setting, so we can either tighten it up, loosen it up. more

What's up everybody, Adam here with etrailer. Today, we have a 2021 Ford F-250, and we're gonna be taking a look at the Roadmaster Suspension Enhancement Kit. So this add on component isn't going to require us to take any of the factory equipment off, so I really liked that. Buy a new truck, you want a little bit more help with the suspension, you don't really have to remove anything that's already there. That's kinda cool. So another thing that's nice about that, adding another component that's gonna take some of that load is just going to put less strain on your components. more

Hi there, Ford owners. Today, your 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 air helper springs. And this is what our airbags looks like when they're installed. Your airbag's going take the place of your jounce bumper. The jounce bumper used to sit between the frame and the axle of your vehicle, so when your suspension would come down, before it would bottom out and cause any metal to metal contact, that jounce bumper would take up that space. The jounce bumper really doesn't do much else beyond that, though. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2021 Ford F-350, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement. But before we do that, why don't we check them out, and make sure that this is gonna be something that'll work for you So before we put our Suspension Enhancement on, what we like to do is take a couple measurements and run through our test scores and things like that. That way we can have a really good comparison on you know, how these Suspension Enhancements are actually going to improve our truck. So, first things first, we have our truck empty, no weight, factory suspension, and I'm gonna take a measurement that way, it'll give us a baseline on where our truck is sitting. So here at the back, we go from the ground to the very edge of our rear wheel, that's gonna be right at 43 inches. more
